π Transport & Regular Line Management
The Transport module is the operational core of the SERA platform. It allows operations managers and station chiefs to plan trip offerings, assign material and human resources (vehicles, drivers), and oversee the sale of taxi-brousse seats.
1. πΊοΈ Structuring the Network and Lines
Before any ticket sales begin, the transport network architecture must be defined on the platform:
-
Transport axis / line: Definition of the departure point, the terminus (e.g. Antananarivo - Toamasina) and stopover bus stations.
-
Segment-based pricing: Configuration of the fare grid based on vehicle comfort class and the trip segment chosen by the traveler.
-
Cabin layout template: Association of a seat layout diagram (e.g. 15, 18 or 22 seats) to guarantee booking accuracy when assigning seats.
2. ποΈ Planning and Scheduling Trips
A trip is put into service via the three-step scheduling interface:
| Step | Operational Action | Effect on the System |
|---|---|---|
1. Trip creation |
Selection of the line, date and theoretical check-in/departure time. |
Generation of a trip instance available for counter and online booking. |
2. Fleet assignment |
Assignment of a registered vehicle and designation of the assigned driver. |
Activation of compliance checks (technical inspection, insurance) and assignment of exact capacity. |
3. Counter opening |
Trip status validated as "Open". |
Authorization to issue digital tickets and seat map selection. |
3. π Manifest Editing and Departure Management
As soon as vehicle loading at the bus station is complete, the trip closing procedure secures the departure:
3.1. Generating the Road Manifest
The road manifest (official passenger list) summarizes all legal data required by the authorities: . Full passenger identity, National ID number and phone number. . Assigned seat number and precise destination. . Ticket payment status and receipt reference.
3.2. Closure and Departure Order
-
The counter agent calls out the passengers and validates the boarding status (Boarded / Absent).
-
The manifest is printed for the driver or transmitted in secure digital format.
-
The trip status changes to "En Route", which blocks any further modification or ticket sale for this trip.
|
Any change of driver or vehicle during a trip due to mechanical failure must be immediately recorded on the platform by the nearest stopover station to maintain traceability of the road sheet. |
